The guidelines were developed by a multidisciplinary expert workgroup using current evidence and expert consensus. Existing guidelines for surveillance, screening for second primary cancers, symptom management, and health promotion were referenced when available. The guidelines discuss clinical follow-up care recommendations for surveillance for colorectal cancer recurrence, screening for second primary cancers, assessment and management of physical and psychosocial long-term and late effects of colorectal cancer and its treatment, health promotion and care coordination.
